Staying at Amaroo Cottage is mostly about doing nothing.
There are however, a couple of fishing reels, a great collection of books, magazines and board games to keep you occupied. A stereo, small television and video are also in place. With few interruptions, Amaroo is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy.
You can jump into the river for a swim or make use of the hand lines and crab nets which are provided in the boat shed and spend an evening fishing off the wharf or hire a tinny and head out along the Hawkesbury. If you're keen bring your own rods - ours are always in a mess.
For those who wish to explore further afield, there are a number of tracks through the bush land to a nearby dam or waterfall. You can hire a tinny and pack a picnic and explore the local riverside beaches or walking tracks.
We recommend Brooklyn Marina for tinny hire or help with delivering supplies from Coles online.
